How to use Crop Image
- Add your image.

Common uses
- Making square profile pictures.
- Cutting images to 16:9.
- Trimming unwanted edges.
About this tool
Crop an image to a ratio (centred) or to exact pixel coordinates. Output keeps transparency for PNG-like files and uses high-quality JPG otherwise.
Worked example
To get a 1:1 square from a 4:3 photo of 1600 × 1200, crop the middle 1200 × 1200 pixels. A 16:9 crop from the same photo is 1600 × 900.
Common problems and fixes
- The crop cuts off the subject.
- Move the crop area before applying. Most tools crop from the centre by default.
- The result has the wrong shape.
- Select the ratio before you adjust the area.
- Quality dropped.
- Cropping does not recompress pixels, but saving to JPG does.

Frequently asked questions
How is the crop positioned?
Ratio crops are centred. For another position, use free mode with X and Y.
Do pixel values refer to the original?
Yes, X, Y, width and height are in original pixels.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. Everything runs inside your browser on your own device, so your files and text are never sent anywhere.
Is it really free?
Yes. There is no sign-up, no watermark and no limit on how often you use it.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes. It works in any modern browser on phones, tablets and computers. Very large files may be slow on older phones.
Does it work offline?
Once the page has loaded, most tools keep working without a connection, because processing happens on your device.
